Le Pont by D E L I C A T
Delicat is a brand i ideated for a project in Accesories class. The objective of the class was to understand fashion concepts deeper, explore materials to create and design leathergoods and purses. We created a main concept for the brand, corporate identity, comunicated through moodboards, identified competitors and state of art, designed 3 different lines under the same concept and finally made a purse and an accesory of our choice to present in a designed stand at the end of the semester.
Concept: Fashion accesories that adapt to women's body language and gestures.
This body language specifically reflects gracefulness and sophistication. I wanted to highlight those values, the elegance of women and communicate them through my designs and products.
M o o d b o a r d s
Costumer: This moodboard focuses on the main audience of the brand.
Enfant Gracieux: This line was inspired in graceful elegant little girls.
Geste Désinvolte: This lines was inspired on "everydayness" of elegant women. This moodboard shows relevant gestures.
Nageur pose: This line was inspired by the idea that women not only are elegant in the streets, but at the beach and pool aswell.

After i created those 3 lines i started sketching purses and jewelry for each line. I picked my favorite one and named it Le Pont (the bridge). This purse is from the line Geste Désinvolte and it was inspired by inspired by the act of crossing the leg while sitting. The idea was that the purse had to adapt to this pose and it is specially designed for this type of situations when women feel the need to publically show their gracefulness by sitting and crossing the leg.
C r e a t i n g L e P o n t a n d C h a î n e D ' é q u i l i b r e.
After vising many leather leaders and exploring materials in Bogotá, i gathered all the materials needed to tangibilize my design and worked with a pattermaker to produce the purse. I made foam prototypes to visualize the purse and finally made the purse with black smooth leather.
The foam prototypes really help to make important decisions such as the actual size of the purse and the elevation and diameter of the arch.
After long hours working at the workshop with the patternmaker this was the final result.

Along with Le Pont, i also designed a golden ring. This design was based on the idea of women having to make an specific gesture in order to balance the entire piece to show it's beauty and the beauty of the gesture. I named it Chaîne D'équilibre. The ring is silver with a gold plated, a chain and a plaque with the logo engraved. I designed it and a jewerly store made it.
