Story telling through Puppets

I have designed a book for children who love having adults read them bed-time stories. The highlight of the book is the interactivity it provides through the narration done by the two main characters- the Owl and the Pussycat in the form of finger puppets attached to the book. The adult has to simply slip in the index finger to play the role of the Owl and the middle finger to play the Pussycat (left hand) while holding the book. It's a definite change from the typical text and illustration oriented story books and the puppets helps in exploring the creative and imaginative side of children. So, in short, it indulges them to look, learn and feel the characters.

Owl and the Pussycat- Introduction
The Owl and the Pussycat is a poem by Edward Lear, first published in 1871 for a three year old Janet Symonds. The Owl and the Pussycat features four animals- an owl, a cat, a pig and a turkey. It tells the story of the love between the title characters who marry in the land 'where the Bong-tree grows'.

Owl and the Pussycat- The Plot
The Owl and the Pussycat set out to sea in a pea green boat with honey and "plenty of money" wrapped in a five pound note. The Owl serenades the Pussycat while gazing at the stars and strumming on a small guitar. He calls her beautiful and the pussycat responds by describing the Owl as an "elegant fowl" and compliments him on his singing. She urges them to marry but they do not have a ring. They sail away for a year and a day to land where the Bong-tree grows and discovers a pig with a ring on his nose in the woods. They buy the ring for a shilling and gets married the next day by a turkey.
