In Egypt Danone Egypt is allocating resources to help procure more and better quality. 80% of the milk produced in Egypt comes from small scale producers with 3 or less cows, or smallholders as we will call them from now on. To help improve the quantity and quality of milk produced by these smallholders Danone Egypt are targeting them to become registered producers of localized dairy Milk Collection Centers where they can bring their milk and receive a fair and constant price 365 days per year. In return for this these smallholders have to commit to delivering a certain quality standard of milk. To help the smallholders meet this standard Danone Egypt have teamed up with the Care Egypt to work directly with the Smallholder through local cooperatives. In this project a designed booklet consists of the Best Practices of producing milk, milk handling testing, storage and transportation “A Day at Egypt MCC’s” on other words the story of milk collection. This Booklet will be shared for all Danone global business units and to be used at the MCC’s as a training booklet for new MCC’s.
