Winterthur Wayfinding Visitor's Map Project
I worked directly with the Director of Garden and Estate at Winterthur to take GIS survey data exported out of AutoCAD by Pennoni's survey and transportation departments and turn the layers into pleasant and useful maps for the visitor's to the gardens and trails at Winterthur. Multiple options were presented to the client and were put on display for visitor feedback before the first rounds of edits began.
Custom icons were created for the map legend, the temporary Follies exhibits, and sketch icons were hand illustrated for the various gardens on the estate.
The estate map was created first using GIS and topography data and traced out in Illustrator.
