In September of 2016, Keith Lamont Scott was fatally shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer. Many protests and marches ensued in downtown Charlotte. With digital signage in the heart of the Queen City, ground zero for the protests, we felt a direct tie to the community. We feared a message with a command or directions might fan the flames and potentially make the signs a target for bottles and stones.
The symbol below was developed as a message of community. The common thread between everyone gathered downtown was their passion and concern for the community of Charlotte.
This symbol was displayed on our screens around the city of Charlotte for weeks and was well received by the community.
