“Wolf 47" depicts a passage of time.
The symbols used were designed to be woodblock prints, or tattoos. They represent personal elements of science fiction and fantasy, and are repeating themes throughout my artwork.
The Wolf Compass symbolizes science-fiction and the courses I am forever charting.
The Warrior Fairy symbol is a strong female character. She recurs in my work and stands for an element of fantasy at a time of myth.
The Sai symbol was inspired by a pair of Sais that my grandfather brought back from Okinawa during WW II. The weapon was originally created to be a farming tool, and was repurposed as a defensive weapon against the sword. It reveals the influence that martial arts has over my work and illustrates my philosophies of defense that are found in my stories.
The Wolves Lazy Eight is a symbol generated for my novel "Magnesium Bow". It is my version of yin and yang. The balance of these forces creates the world, and both have it within themselves to become the other. The symbol represents and illustrates the two forces in my novel - opposing energies which cannot exist without each other. The wolves represent the infinite balance of these forces.
The Ironwolf is one of the earliest of my logo/symbol designs and is a representation of self.
Other symbols found within the piece are secrets revealed in "Magnesium Bow".
