I had a great opportunity to participate in the development of a new MMO strategy title - Legends of Honor - as an Art Director. Together with an awesome art team I was working on the visual style for the new game, which was a challenge, but still very exciting and inspiring journey.
Our department included 2D, 3D and UI artists. My role as an art director was to support the development and maintenance of the art style together with the art team, supervise the quality and speed of work, facilitate time and task management as well as support the set up of the workflows and pipeline. As a visual keeper of the game I was the person of contact for internal and external departments.
Concept Artists: Stefano Moroni, Sven Dekubanowsky, Leonardo Schmidt, Michele Tannert, Erick Altensleben, Cedric Wurm
3D Artists: Tom Lippitsch, Patrick Metz, Kenny Carmody, Jeremias Hohn, Philipp Unterguggenberger, Verena Boeck, Vincent Ganachaud
UI Designers: Daniel Pratt, Johannes Grünewald, Sabrina Urban, Francesca Chilla, Hanno Melchert
Legends of Honor is available on Android and iOS, as well as a browser game.
Here I'd like to share some assets for different game features, that were developed with my creative feedback in a close and creative collaboration with 2D and 3 D artists. Our goal was visually consistent look of the game with aesthetics relevant to out target audience.
In Legends of Honor the player can upgrade not only the buildings in their castle, but their keep as well. It was a creative task, which required a lot of attention to details. See the keep levels below.
Characters for different events in legends of Honor were 2D painted. Our visual representation was focused on the special atmosphere, where medieval times are the base for heroic and glorified art style appealing for adult male audience.
Below are some examples of special locations in the castle - events and decorations
Thank you for watching!
