ROTATION DETAILS

Welcome to Dermatology Rotation

This portfolio is designed to help you draw together the information that will help you on the path to becoming a good doctor. With the assistance of your educational supervisor, it will help you to plan your skills development and allow you to demonstrate the attainment of the attitudes; skills and knowledge that you need to complete the Dermatology Rotation.

We would suggest that you read this portfolio carefully as it will help you to understand the areas that you will need to cover during your Foundation Program, and the standards that will be expected of you.

Although this portfolio will provide a record of your progress through Foundation, its principle purpose is to encourage the development of good practice – and to this end it should be thought of as a Learning Portfolio. It provides a structure that will help you to prepare for meetings with your educational/clinical supervisors, to develop the habits of reflective learning, and to assist you in managing the process of presenting the evidence of your competence at the end of the Foundation Program. .

You have a responsibility to demonstrate that you are not only fit to practice, but that you maintain your fitness to practice through continuing professional development. This portfolio will help you do that over the next two years of your Foundation Program.

Whilst the primary purpose of the Foundation Learning Portfolio is to assist you in recording and reflecting on your progress and achievements throughout the Foundation Program the contents of your portfolio may also be used as part of the selection process.
