Sculpture created for Eaux Claires festival, produced by Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National) and Bon Iver, which took place on August 12-13th at Eau Claire, WI (USA). Born from the collaboration between Edoardo Tresoldi, Michael Brown – Eaux Claires creative director – and the artist James McVinnie, Baroque features an unique convergence of visual art and music: a set of music for organ, played within a transparent organ-shaped sculpture. The artwork takes its spatial development from the negative of the cube as a sculptural element, integrates perceptual and sensorial experience and redefines the concept of musical performance. Baroque hosted performances of the English organist James McVinnie and of the American organist Griffin McMahon. At the end of the festival, in which Jon Hopkins, James Blake, (the) Melvins and Erykah Badu performed among many other artists, Baroque has been donated to Eau Claire community. Read Less
