Bisset Adams have designed the first of the next generation of Tower Hamlet's Idea Stores on the Commercial Road at Watney Market in East London. The landmark £4.1 million Idea Store was partially funded by the Big Lottery.

The concept is ‘a marketplace of information’, with adult, youth and children’s library services complemented by a flexible ground floor space for a range of community services from the council one stop shop to local health services. The aim is to improve local people’s health and employment opportunities. Bisset Adams have designed the 1250 sq ft Watney Market Idea Store to BREEAM Excellent standard, with green roof and a high performance glazing curtain containing a striking graphic treatment to represent the cultural diversity of the area.
