Lake Afton Public Observatory opened its doors in 1981, but closed in 2015 due to a lack of funding. One year later a group of volunteers banded together to revive operations and inspire a new generation. I was tasked with rebranding the observatory to match those goals.
LAPO never had a website before reopening to the public. Now they have a fully responsive official home that tells their story and provides guests with an up-to-date viewing schedule.
As a nonprofit the observatory relies on ticket sales and donations to fulfill its mission. Another way visitors can show their love and support of the observatory is by purchasing custom designed items from the gift shop.
