Techniquest Revamp

Challenge: To design and create a user experience on both mobile and desktop platforms specifically designed for a family audience to advertise and engage users in visiting one of Wales’ tourist attractions or recreational sites.

Insight: I selected Techniquest as my chosen tourist attraction as I thought the website was complicated and un-engaging to my audience, specifically far too complex for a young child to use.

Solution: Due to Techniquest being a science centre, I came up with the idea of dissecting the brain and understanding what the different sections of the brain controlled, that then led me into looking at the Ink Blot Test, a series of symmetrical ink blot images that when presented to different subjects/people create different images to each individual depending on their psychological state. This then led me to create my own series of images that can be perceived in different ways, I had then undertaken a survey and chosen the most popular options for each image where by your chosen option will then become 3D on the webpage, creating an interactive and engaging website that will make children want to visit Techniquest as it is all about engaging with the stations they have at Techniquest.
The 'Kids' Page, I have chosen to use all black back ground images for the kids page as I believe they are striking and engaging and will grab children's attention.
So when the chosen icon is selected the image will then transform out of the drawing and become a 3D object and in this case, fly around the page.
The 'Adults' Page, I have chosen to use all white back ground images as I believe they are more sophisticated and are better suited to my adult/parent audience.
The 'Schools' Page I have chosen to use a mixture of white and black back ground images as the schools page is a mix between the parents page and the kids page.
