Shiner Rising Star is a three-round battle of the bands featuring 32 contestants held at multiple venues across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Sponsored by Shiner. The competitions grand prize is studio time, a professionally produced record, and album packaging design.

As part of winning the Rising Star competition Shiner asked McGarrah-Jessee to design the winners’ next album cover. 2015’s winner was a band named Buffalo Ruckus. Although my design was runner-up it still turned out to be an extremely strong contender.
