The project for this assignment of the graphic design course I attended at Parsons NYC had to be developed following few simple rules: choosing a book that one hadn’t read before and designing a jacket-slipcase combo by using only black and white textures and shapes of letters. The aim was to create a visual concept with only the book title as a
‘brief’. I chose ‘A journey without maps’ by Graham Green and worked with an iconic
font as Futura and the random texture of a mountain topography. The design phase
was followed by the construction of a physical mock-up.
