The froome group cycling app focuses on the group aspect of cycling, and is affiliated with Chris Froome. What differentiates this app from competing apps is the group aspect where users can effectively communicate and socialize with fellow cyclists. The affiliated brand, Chris Froome, was chosen as he is an established figure in the cycling community, which will enhance the exposure of the app, and he is best known for being the leader of team sky which relates to the group aspect of the app.

User research was done by conducting interviews with cyclists with various interest levels and goals. Based on this research the following mutual attributes were identified amongst cyclists namely improving, competing socialising and experiencing. Based on user research the following personas and user journeys were created:

Collecting data through tracking/importing data from other tracking devices

Giving cyclists access to detailed statistics

Comparing their statistics to other cyclists within the cycling community as well as to their own past efforts

Users can share recorded data with other users that are part of their group

Users can access information, tips and news inside the cyclist community leaving users informed

Cyclists can compare their statistics to other cyclists within their group and other cycling groups as well as to their own past efforts

Users can gather information about upcoming events within their news feed

Users can challenge other groups to a training session they have completed

Users can create or be part of groups

Users can view and share images via a news feed or within their groups

Users can follow other groups as well as be followed by other groups across the world

Users can schedule training and challenge sessions within their different groups
