Point Of Sales Display Unit: POLO

POINT OF SALES DISPLAY UNIT
TYPE: CLASSROOM PROJECT
DURATION: 3 WEEKS (SEMESTER 4)
DESIGN BRIEF
To design a table top display unit for a product which produces impulsive buying in any store, supermarket or any other retail unit using acrylic and corrugated plastic only.
WHY POLO?

On a survey done, people love polo which includes people right from children to adults. However due to competitive brands and new products such as tic tac, mentos, center fresh, polo is kept not near the billing section in most of the stores.
Polo’s display unit is a simple unit made of cardboard box and none have experimented on the display unit which can be one of the reason for keeping it away from the billing counters.
Since the price of POLO ranges from Rs.2 to Rs.10, people do not think twice to buy it and hence should be kept near the billing counter  which will encourage impulsive buying.
Another reason for removal of Polo near billing counters or in shops even due to its availability can be that people are so well versed with the name that the product requires no promotion. However nothing can be taken as a proved statement. It can be either ways.
