Week 2 Image 3 Lunar Chart

Technique: Small-point artist pen on paper.

Process: Each night for several days the moon's phases were drawn. The inverse of these images were used to produce the waxing images.

Reasoning: The phases of the moon are in line with the theme of time. Using the actual moon as a subject of the image for each night was impractical due to time constraints, so instead only the a few nights around the full moon were observed, and the rest of the phases were extrapolated. The use of pen is an attempt to emulate the woodcut effect of old lunar and astrological charts.

Reflection: although the intention behind the mages was sound, some of the lunar circles and hatching were rendered poorly, which I feel could be improved.
