*hlenkr is an exploration of the concept of the digital space for critical thinking. It is a web service which provides other ways of reading experience and non-linear text approached through the visible links.
By using *hlenkr as our name we want to draw the historical links. To visualize this we created new shapes by merging runes and Latin letters.
Three different texts (an issue) are published every week. Each text has a specific focus and can be treated independently. They are connected trough three keywords chosen by curators. Selection is the result of an analysis of each text.
One edition consists of four issues (twelve texts) and is connected through twelve keywords. Users have access to the whole edition and are able to choose a new combination of keywords and read all the texts in different contexts.
What we found the most interesting are the intersections, how links between texts make a network, what kind of shapes appear on it depending on the nature and complexity of the connections.
We transformed these shapes into a font. This could be used as encryption of the texts in the website.
