Challenge
Having only an idea, 2 friends came to Ultrabold with an exciting project: an Ecommerce website that would sell traditional Portuguese wines and gourmet snacks. Everything was yet to be determined: name, logotype, visual identity and marketing strategy. Over the next 2 years, we would help this business take it’s first steps and evolve from a successful online venture to a small picturesque bistro where both friends could continue to sell their products and offer a blend of traditional Portuguese cuisine and modern international foods. The reception has been overly positive among the customers, and the social media engagement led to enthusiastic reviews!
Solution
Ultrabold came up with the name Garfo & Rolha (translated to Cork & Fork) and has also created the symbol for the concept. The new design needed to incorporate the both sides of the business, yet add a modern meaningful touch that was distinctive from the often-seen crest symbols used by other fine wine curators and markets. Following the simplicity of the logotype, a minimalist color palette was adopted while exploring unusual printing processes and materials.
