On September 14, 2016, I climb the Iseran Pass, which separates Val d'Isère from Bonneval-sur-Arc. The weather was still mild, with a lot of wind up there. I go down Bonneval side, along the cliff and settles for one night in the hamlet of Écot, one of the oldest mountain village in France.

Wake up early the next day with lights coming down the mountain, I realize that it has snowed during the night. These are the first snow of the year. I have breakfast in the car where I spent the night. The lights I saw earlier are actually soldiers returning from the Evettes refuge.

I take my car and decide to go back to the Iseran pass to take photos of the pass under the snow. I stopped a little before the climb by the snowdriver coming down from the pass. A worker tells me that the pass is accessible and that there are many chamois and other ibex visible from the road.
The atmosphere is amazing and reminds me photos of Scotland. The mountains are a gradient from white to brown. It's wonderful...

I go down and leave for a hike to the refuge of Évettes. Under the rain, I arrived in another world, dead, silent, like another planet ...
