Few of my design which got selected for a t-shirt design competition organised by POPTALES, a Guwahati based pop-culture merchandise shop.
I was allowed to use only three colours in the designs.
Topic of Design were : (1) Anything related to Assam (e.g Popular Lingos, Proverbs, Everyday usage terms, Popular Lyrics, Music, Culture, Legends etc OR (2) POPCULTURE which includes Movie, Music, Gaming, Spoof, T.V. Series etc.
KHATI ROCKER (which means folk rocker in Assamese) . I tried to use the popular elements of Assam like DOTORA(traditional stringed instrument), Bhoot Jolokiya(King Chilli) and Bihu festival attire with a rock music crossover which is very popular in Assam.
This one is Inspired from the famous ' I Love New York logo' designed by MILTON GLASER in 1977. I used the same typeface and added the pork icon . Its for all the pork lovers of Guwahati (GHY).
This one is for all the MAAL(Liquor) lovers of Assam. I used all the local assamese lingo with Absolut vodka crossover.
This is a doodle art style Guwahati and you will know if you have ever been there.
This one is my personal favourite illustration i had in mind after watching the REDBULL animated planet. In this i tried to incorporate all the important places,culture,people and occupation of Assam.
