Overvægt i Danmark - Sundhedsstyrelsen

Campaign against childhood obesity

An increasing number of Danish children tend to get overweight. This are endangering their health and well-being. Overweight children often suffer from lower self-esteem, as well as they have an increased risk of getting weight problems later in life.
We have looked into the surrounding environment of a number of Danish children between the age 3 and 17. Based on our insights, we found that inactivity and unhealthy diets is often to blame, which in most cases is due to busy days or laziness of the parents. We also concluded that when dealing with the younger children in the group, the parents are the main responsible.
The older the children got, the harder it was for their parents to act as an authority and the kid should take a responsibility too.
The end result is this campaign, targeted at the parents of younger children.
