One of the challenges of the project was to mimic the look and feel of actual galvanized steel. I achieved this with multiple layers of different silver paint for a texture and tone differential. Oxidizing paint can be difficult to work with due to the tendency to run, drip and stain. As shown below, run off onto the white rubber midsole was successfully minimized.
