OLYMPIA is a book trailer realized during the motion graphic course at Politecnico of Milan. We were asked to create a video that could express - in a visual and animated form - the content of a book arbitrarily assigned to us by professors, in our case OLYMPIA by Massimiliano Studer.

Booktrailer

A book trailer is made to intrigue viewers and introduce them to the content of the book, but it needs to be without spoilers or unveiling too much. The challenge was precisely that of correctly interpreting the author's thought without merely making a visual synthesis of the book, but rather understanding what the author wants to convey with his work and returning it as a short video.

We were also asked to realize a second version of the video, thought to be accessible also for people with vision or hearing deficiencies.

Context

Olympia is a 1938 German documentary film written, directed and produced by Leni Riefenstahl. Massimiliano Studer's book analizes Leni's life, her ideology and her immense production.

Tactile book

It was created also a special book that accompanies accessible book trailer.

It was realized specifically for blind people, so that they can be facilitated in following the sequence of scenes - in particular - the geometric reconstructions have been printed in relief, so that through the touch, people can understand the movement of the athletes.

Concept book

The booktrailer is also accompanied by a little concept book with the aim of explaining the fundamental steps of the creative process and the choices made during the design.
