TAHAKKÜM - DOMINATION

The proprietary relationship between men and objects is doomed to be
unilateral and self-seeking. This self-seeking feeling of domination, inciting men
to protect the object in their possession from the unrestrained and unwanted
appetency of another, for the sake of the further maintenance of its dominance
over the property.
The masculine world tends to evaluate women in a fashion parallel to its
evaluation of objects. It is prone to consider women as “defected”, rather than
one of two equal halfs of a whole. The project Tahakküm – Domination, aims to
criticize the transformation into a property, which is in need of protection from
the unwanted lust of masculine bodies, of women, along with being condemned
to become an object of desire.
