Surrey Roller Boys - graphic design for a Sports Team

The brief was to create a easy to recognise, individual logo for the A-team of the then newly formed mens Roller Derby league, Surrey Roller Boys.
Building on the strong local links to C.S. Lewis, I merged his 'Jabberwock' character with Roller Derby's 'Jammer' player position to name the team the 'Jammerwockies'
Basing the imagry of the logo on a typical skate helmet, with the addition of the star worn by Jammers, and the styalised wings of a Jabberwock to create the logo shown below.
The colour purple was selected to provide a link to the sister league, Surrey Roller Girls.
Three versions of this logo were originally created, a CMYK, 'official' logo and two additional 'single colour' logos for silkscreen printing onto team uniforms.

Following the Logo design, my work with Surrey Roller Boys was far from complete. I have since created many flyers, posters and award certificates for the league. An example of these are shown above.
