The Myth About Female Leadership

THE MYTH ABOUT FEMALE LEADERSHIP

The concept of wearing a “mask" at work, is something most women naturally turn to in order to carve out a place
for themselves in the overwhelmingly male dominated world of business. However I feel that the imagery of a mask is
to shallow to portray the total mind and body “skin” or "stereotype" that women dawn in the workplace.
So, instead I chose to represent the concept of interchangeable “skins" through the use of traditional matryoshka dolls
(Russian nesting dolls). Each doll in the image relates to an aspect of a woman stereotype or myth: the largest doll
symbolizes the domineering type “A” worker, the smaller doll represents the aspect of feminine worker and the
doll on the floor represents being mentored within the workplace.
