When creating this design, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, the phrase "heavy handed" was a reference to tattooing. A tattoo artist who, when tattooing, is rough or abrasive to the skin is said to be heavy handed. I also later learned that it can also be a reference to a hard hitting boxer. In fact Webster's dictionary defines the term as; "dealing with people or problems in a severe or harsh way : too strict or controlling"

The creation of this project began a long time ago. The logo itself was created very early in my career and when given the opportunity to put this work into my portfolio. I decided to apply the design to t-shirts as that was my original intention when making it. I am currently in the process of expanding on this design to create a women's version of the design that will feature a more feminine design but continuing the tattoo theme.
