'Tea Party' aims to explore therelationship between two genres while communicating the detail and eleganceassociated with the over heading theme of a tea party. I was interested in portraying the relationship between twoopposing genres of still life and portraiture and exploring how I could convey this in my chosen setting.I wanted to show a vibrant, playful, elegant collection of cohesive imagesreflecting attention to detail. I’ve taken away the traditional tea party ‘look’ and created a modern twist byintegrating stylised settings and younger models. The components that arelinked to traditional are given a fresh perspective by creating anunconventional setting through use of styling and artistic choices. I wanted tochallenge the viewer’s perception of this traditional pastime.
