Every Day People (The Tulsa World)

Update: Everyday People is Recipient of First Place award in the Web Design category for the 2013 Society of Professional Journalism awards!
Every Day People
A special project for The Tulsa World
A unique twist on the responsive design - called "responsive-ish" design. It scales with the browser like a good responsive design would do, but it doesn't present a unique layout for each device. Instead, images simply drop down to the next row or scoot over, depending on browser size.

Visitors to the special project can subscribe to receive an email each day with the newest submission, or they can share the latest one on Twitter, Facebook or via email.

We've also optimized the images for iPad scaling. If you visit http://tulsaworld.com/everydaypeople on your ipad, you'll be able to pinch and zoom each image without opening the larger version of it.
A healthy amount of inspiration for this project came from the Beyond 9/11 site that Time Magazine put out. While theirs is perhaps more interactive and "polished", ours works across more devices and browsers.
