KUUK Is a new concept of an eating utensil for cerebral palsy patients. The main idea was to create a new eating experience for cerebral palsy patients, boosting there self-esteem and sense of belonging at school or at home with their families, by creating a utensil that is more simple than those currently in the market, without sacrificing function or comfort. The design is made of three parts, The head, which can be changed depending on the type of food, the central mechanism that allows a complete 360 degree adjustment that adapts to the needs of the patient, and a water resistant soft wood handle that resembles common kitchen utensils. The main emotion that drove this project was empathy, and finding a solution that would make patients feel connected to their school or home environment. Read Less

For this brief we were required to design a tool for a group of individuals with a specific disability. The main idea was to create a new eating experience for people living with cerebral palsy, boosting their self-esteem and sense of belonging at school or at home with their families. We aimed to create a utensil that was more practical than those currently in the marketplace, without sacrificing function or comfort. The design is comprised of three parts: a head, which can be changed depending on the type of food, a central mechanism that allows a complete 360 degree adjustment that adapts to the needs of the user, and a water resistant soft wood handle that resembles common kitchen utensils.
