On the back of two successful projects with Alex (Lexus and Infiniti), a friendship was forged, and we both wanted to work on a portfolio project together.
Alex is a big car guy and has a friend with quite a collection, who recently purchased the Porsche 918 Spyder. Alex was dying to shoot the stunning, million dollar supercar for a portfolio piece. It was also a chance for Alex to test out the new Phase One IQ3 100MP back, suppled to him by Digital Transitions for this project.
Inspired by our Thomas Strogalski Porsche shots (in a CGI environment) Alex wanted to create a similar feel of the car entering and living in a modern industrial space.
Initially the plan was to also create a CGI environment but we both liked the location he shot - which is actually where the cars are kept. So, we decided to work with the plates from that and extend the environment in retouching to make it feel slightly larger. Mission accomplished!
