This project is called ‘Light Yourself’
I was always interested in how the lightings effect our lives.
Generally our life is uncountable, we can’t define our patterns of life in few words.
But mostly, lightings that we use in our room only have choices of two. On&off.
They can only create one kind of atmosphere.
It was inconvenient for me and wanted a lamp that can fit into my space and life.
I was inspired by Hannok, (traditional wooden Korean house which doesn’t use any kind of screws or glues)
to be assembled and dissembled by the user and tried to maintain the oriental structure form.
Light Yourself can create different kind of ambience, from a single wooden structure.
The user can combine 'wing blocks' in two diagonal ways.
The ‘wing blocks’ guide the direction of the light. 4 or 6 blocks can be fitted into one side.
So in total 16 or 24 blocks to play and control with.
As a result, there can be huge number of cases(lighting shape) that can be made by the user.
They were designed in two versions(4&6).
It can be used widely in living room, bedroom, cafeteria, wherever you want the place to be diverse.
The combination of wooden material and light will give you elegant touch in your place.
Basic platform
