At the southern end of the Olympic Rain Forest, in Washington State, stands the world's shortest woman. In this picture, she can be seen rooted in front of the biggest Sitka Spruce tree on Earth. The Spruce is 273 feet taller than the woman. The tallest Douglas Fir tree, a mile away, is a 302 feet tall. Stranger still, the biggest Pine tree on earth stood only two miles from this Spruce. It fell down, last year, in a wind storm. By the way, the tallest Redwood Tree, which is hundreds of miles south, in California, is 370 feet tall. Imagine that.
