Blood Glass Ink Water

What you see here is a crazy collage of smashed glass, fake blood, fire and water.Your looking at two things here. This series originated from two shot glasses. One was full of ink. Another full of dyed red corn syrup.
These where originally set up for a set of macro shots showcasing what two shot glasses looked like under various lighting conditions. What does black and red look like in a tiny glass was my question. The shots didn't turn out so good. So like a good little artist I got frustrated and left the glasses on a shelf for a whole summer. Over the months a membrane grew over the top protecting the contents. Yet they continued to evaporate, just at an extremely slow pace. So it made sense to me to smash them and take pictures of what they looked like. Then it made sense to me to set them on fire.
Sometimes, with art, when it doubt? Smash it and use the chaos!
