Through this project, we took one of my published poems (below) and used it as the conceptual foundation for this shoot. Where the poem explores the silence that often comes after the unfortunate experience of abuse. I find that many suffer from some sort of abuse - not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. These images are a visual representation of what the silence feels like. I hope that this can shed a little light, or at least be an accurate reflection on what many go through too often.

...
The pain that must come from zipping ones lips -
to have them intertwined in a forced marriage of abuse.
never speaking of it as if a recluse,
swelling profusely until they are obtuse.

...
Salt surrounds them, being no use.
A singular flesh which once was a deuce,
consequence of pain
learned them not to be loose.
