Story
Peter Stefanak called me in 2014 that they were starting a new exciting project at molody.Rusyny (Slovakia-based NPO). They were collecting the Rusyn fables for children across the Slovak regions for quite a while. At that time, they have gathered both folk and author material worth releasing ten CDs of Rusyn tales. They immediately started recording stories one-by-one involving talented Rusyn actors. With the plan to release two CDs a year, my goal was to design the first CD of the upcoming series.
I have fallen for the idea right from the beginning. Besides my daily job of digital product designer, I like to get my mind around the other, more visually-oriented quests. With this project, I was facing a challenge to design a distinct, yet consistent set of CD sleeves that will appeal to children. When we were starting the project with the first two CDs back in 2014, there were no detailed plans for the rest of the series. So I needed to design the first cover by combining graphic elements to account for their possible variation in the future covers. Take a look at CDs we have done so far.
