I decided to illustrate the Year 1955 in which the UNTOUCHABILITY OFFENCE ACT was passed which allowed to prescribe punishment for the practice of "Untouchability". I decided to draw Lord Ram ( a famous hindu diety) who went ahead and tasted berries from the hand of "Shabri " , one of his devotee who was considered untouchable.
I wanted to bring out the point that when our gods /dieties /scriptures dont approve of untouchability why did we humans take so much time to realise. Sadly Some of us havnt even realised now.
