Bomper were approached by Taxi Studio to create the key visual for Bradfords' Bread & Butties promotional campaign. Taxi provided detailed concept art and left us to craft our larger-than-life CG sandwich, bursting with bacon, lettuce and cold hard cash.
Working from Taxi’s sketches, our 3D artists set to work sculpting the core bread, bacon and lettuce elements using Cinema 4D and Zbrush. Following a brisk trip to the shops, these elements were then textured using hi-res reference photography, granting our bouncy and exaggerated foodstuffs a detailed, grounded finish.
Finally, the visual’s key component, the money, was carefully placed in and around the sandwich to give the composition its final shape. Rather than use dynamics, our artists exerted complete control over the cash placement using various Mograph cloners and effectors to ensure that the final visual came out just right. Peripheral elements were then added and the whole visual was rendered out in Octane.
