Image 1 // Which Way // Photograph
Technique:  Digital Photography. Photojournalism
Process: I took this photo on manual mode at New Farm Park, next to the Brisbane Powerhouse. The raw photo was then edited on photoshop to sharpen the image, and brighten the sign and blur the background in order to bring focus to the sign.
Reasoning: I was intrigued by the personality this sign had. From the stickers, to the ageing dots on the sign I thought it would be an interesting subject which tells a story. I also liked the erratic nature of the tree in the background, overall I think the photo is calm through the use of colour but also very cluttered with the environment surrounding the subject.
Reflection: This photo turned out well. I like the ageing nature of the sign in contrast to the bright yellow colour it holds.

Technique: Digital Photography. Photojournalism
Process: I took this photo on manual mode with a DSLR. It was then processed in photoshop to make the sign look more worn down in order to give it more personality.
Reasoning: I was drawn to the retro vibe of this typeface and sign design. It was attached to an old community center in Sandgate , Brisbane where many elderly people tend to gather. I think it gives not only a look into the past, where community centers were hubs for entertainment, but also makes you question the future of these centers and if they have a place in modern society when Gen Y's are in their 60's.
Reflection: I liked the way the image turned out after it was altered in photoshop. I believe the ageing of the sign allowed it to tell a better story regarding the decay of these types of community hubs for future generations.
Image 3 // Orange Car // Photograph
Technique: Digital Photography. Photojournalism.
Process: Taken on manual mode on a DSLR. Altered in photoshop to brighten the car, and create a 'grain' onto the image to make it look like it was taken on film.
Reasoning: This car is located near my house, and is always sitting outside on the curb. I have never seen somebody drive it, or had seen it move to another spot. Sometimes in Autumn it will be covered with leaves from the tree which is shading it. Through processing it in photoshop, I wanted the car to be more lively, like someone still cared for it. I brightened the paint, and added shine to the car. I also added a grain to the image to make it look like a film photo, capturing the era of this car's production.
Reflection: I enjoyed the brightness of the car after processing in photoshop. However I wish the surroundings of the image were nicer, or I had framed the car tighter.
Image 4 // Who You Gonna Spray  // Photograph
Technique: Digital Photography
Process: Firstly taken on a DLSR in New Farm on manual mode. I then processed it in Photoshop to create a depth and darkness within the crack on the wall.
Reasoning: I liked that this could have been put there for a combination of purposes. Firstly, for the new ghostbusters movie, as advertisement, or as a quick piece of art by an artist who likes the logo. I also thought the placement was clever next to the large crack, which adds more personality to the image and setting.
Reflection: I enjoy the pops of red in this image, and the overall toned down and aged look of the image.
Image 5 // Reflection and Glow // Photograph
Technique: Digital Photography
Process: Taken on a DSLR in a low light setting. By adjusting the settings, I was able to capture the box which surrounds the art installation, rather than just the glowing globes alone.
Reasoning: I have always been attracted to this installation at the powerhouse and decided it would photograph well in the low light.
Reflection: The glow of the lights if the most appealing aspect. I like the reflective purposes the perspex box gives the artwork.
