Plakatatak is an art project coming along with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the signing of the “Treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation”. For this, the Goethe Institute is launching different activities, Plakatak being the most important one.

Five Polish and five German designers have been invited to create posters related to themes delivered by a German-Polish duo of journalist/philosophers Joanna Krakowska and Thomas Friedrich. Over three months, starting from the 4th of June, 50 different posters will be displayed through all the city of Warsaw, together with a bunch of expositions. The invited artist are: Lex Drewinski, Acapulco studio, Götz Grammlich, Frank Höhne, Krzysztof Iwanski, Tymek Jezierski, Uwe Loesch, Mario Lombardo, Ariane Spanier, Syfon studio.

Plakatatak is curated by the polish designer and art show curator and critic René Wawrzkiewicz and the german creative director Lars Harmsen, designer, professor and editor of Slanted Publishers. The patronage is done by Goethe Institute Warsaw.
