That Big Book Sale
My team was approached by Charleston Library and Friends to create advertising pieces for its yearly event, That Big Book Sale. We were challenged to create a billboard, poster, Facebook header, a postcard and a bookmark. I drew inspiration from classic books such as To Kill A Mockingbird, Moby Dick, Great Gatsby etc. and illustrated objects and characters in a geometric pattern and experimented with a typeface to really highlight ‘That Big Book Sale.’ The color palette used is very bold and bright and would immediately catch a viewer’s eye driving past the billboard on I-26. Within each piece, whether it was the billboard or a bookmark, I carried the geometric design and large type throughout so it was cohesive and eye catching. The board chose my design as the winner and my design was showcased throughout Charleston.
Billboard located on I-26, west of Heriot and faces east for traffic coming out of downtown and heading into North Charleston. Ran from September 27th - October 17th.
