Program Guide Cover Designs
I've had the privilege of designing for the MPT (Maryland Public Television) program guide and worked on the art production of the guide. I also designed covers and inside feature pages for several issues.
April 2019's issue focused on Chesapeake Bay Week. This issue won a Communicator Award.
Season seven of Call the Midwife brings an era of change and innovation. To depict the show's transition into the early 1960's, I chose to create a pattern and visual style that captured the hope and cheerfulness of the new season, while showcasing the cast of characters.
For the Downton Abbey artwork, I had photography provided by BBC/PBS, and used some photoshop techniques that brought out the drama in the cover photograph. In the feature and cover, I took cues from the period drama and incorporated scroll artwork and a damask pattern to set the tone for the show.
For the Poldark artwork, I took inspiration from the moody setting in the Cornish port. I also incorporated historic maps of England to embrace the historic drama of the show.
Photography from the Broadway production of 42nd Street and The King and I introduced a medley of Broadway shows.
