Kaiju Bru
The Concept
This project was an exercise in art direction and collaboration. I wanted to create something from start to finish, exploring different mediums while working with great talents. Being from Michigan, there is an abundance of craft beers, all of which have distinct looks when it comes to the branding/labeling. I decided to come up with a faux beer label to appealed to my geek sensibilities. Teaming up with local Detroit artist, Damon Trestain, we came up with the concept of "Kaiju Bru". This concept stems from our love of old, Japanese monster movies. Our goal was to make a niche beer that appealed to weird misfits like ourselves, and to create an entire campaign/brand around that.
