Client: ‘Bon Appetite’ Magazine
Bon Appetite magazine required illustrations to be includedas in their 2012 gift calendar, which will contain culinary inspired imagery.The theme for March was ‘Let 'Em Eat Cake’ and my concept was to illustrate three and devouring a layer cake. The two male ants rest down in front of the cake because they have stuffed themselves.' I wanted to give the ants lots of character, so the lady ant is placed atop the cake as she prepares to eat the cherry on top. I incorporated the texture in the yellow cake and their ant shells for visual interest.
