The idea of the CURTAIN BIKE is to solve current issues of the bicycle, such as theft and clutter, and to utilize the bicycle as something other than a mode of transportation. The bicycle is invited into the complex vertically, where it could be parked near the owner's housing unit (where it will be safe from theft and clutter on the ground-level is reduced.) The facade for the designated areas of parking are designed to allow the bikes to protrude out past the outer walls so that the tires create patterns on the facade. The units take form as rectangular boxes that vary in size. The boxes are then shifted ans spaced out to facilitate air and ventilation, light, and usable private space. The overall shift of the complex responds to the canal to its front and the Maas River to its side.
