Principia is a publication of scientific dissemination with hight quality articles.
I have illustrated the article "Rediscovering Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO): cotton from India" by Carla Romeu.
In India, more than 11 million hectares are cultivated with genetically modified cotton, which means that 95% of planted cotton in this country is genetically modified. What happened to the native cotton, known as Asian cotton, that in the mid-twentieth century was the vast majority?

I have illustrated two important ideas in this text: 1. the dilemma between using genetically modified cotton seeds or not. In both cases there are benefits and drawbacks, and it is unclear what is the way forward. And 2. the constant doubts about GM agriculture and their circumstances. It is difficult to have a specific position.
