Final Major Project // Perception of type

University of Greenwich // Year 3  May 2012

Typography is a huge aspect of design, and through my threeyears at university I have found that how people perceive it can varyenormously. What is good typography? Is it a matter of opinion?

The basis for this piece of work revolves aroundinteraction, sets of nine squares of which contain type on acetate sheets. Sevenof the squares are ‘moveable’ allowing people to interact and change the workmoving each acetate square to any position they please.

How type is portrayed can have a vast influence overwhat connotations it conveys; whether it is successful or not. I have created aseries of typographic layouts to challenge how people perceive typography andhow they react when given the opportunity to change what they see.
