„Design and Save the World!?“ - was the main topic of the17. International Design Educational Meeting. This year for the first time inAustria organized by University of Applied Sciences Graz, Department ofExhibition and Museum Design, 35 students and 14 professors from Belgium,Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Slovenia and Austria are working onthe question, if Design can be part of the movement to save the world. Thisgroup wants to keep the connections between the participants and should help torealize future projects.

The I.D.E.M.team (International Department of Evacuation Management) is sure that we don’thave to find a solution, but try to help people to find their own tools tosurvive. Too much times controlled by authorities, politics, huge companies, …we think citizens just have to be pro-active with their future. No moreprograms with foreign people who observe them, find solutions and come backhome. Our concept is to make them react by themselves. No solution and anuncomfortable present today …. We have to speed up the process to let the placefree for free fresh new stories. The place has to be free of the past, of the pressureof the memory of people, free … EVAQ.
