“THIS IS HOW NATURE DOES IT” is a NON-PROFIT project that was created to support the equality of LGBTQI people and remind everyone that a person’s sexual orientation is a fact of their nature and deserves equal treatment and rights and respect with the majority.
We came up with the idea about a year ago discussing the “Gay propaganda law” that Russian government came up with a few years earlier. Having lived in the beautiful city of London for the last couple of years, we are lucky to be a part of such a diverse society that welcomes every person regardless nationality, gender, sexual orientation or religion.
Watching our gay friends walking around the city holding hands, kissing and hugging freely without fear to be penalised or arrested, made us think: this is so natural, letting the person be who they are. We couldn’t understand how anyone could MAKE the person change their sexual orientation, surely it’s not a fashion, you CANNOT MAKE or PROPAGANDIZE the person to be lesbian or straight, gay or transgender, this is the way WE were BORN.
And then we saw this picture by Kaç Saat Oldu? in the news where Turkish police blasting Gay pride parade in 2015 with water cannons, accidentally created a rainbow, the symbol of LGBT social movement since 1978. It looked as if NATURE stood up in their defence.
The assembly of the prototype has begun! The most complex and the most important task for us - the re-creating "rainbow" effect in the closed space. Everyone is excited and nervous at the same time!
